gas stations zine

new releases monthly ☆ read them here!
why gas stations?

i draw gas stations because i like them, and i like them because i find their banality charming and interesting. despite being everywhere, being identifiable to everybody, and being a necessity to an unsurprising majority of the world, no one really gives them a second thought. something about that just fascinates me. i've become attached to the comfort and familiarity of certain local gas stations and get legitimately excited whenever i visit a new one somewhere. to find myself at a gas station is to find myself in the seat of serendipity. it’s the perfect opportunity to recognize the underlying beauty in what we all too commonly and neglectfully categorize as mundane. but, in short, i really just think they’re cool.

what started as an afternoon sketch has evolved into a free-form, exploratory, self-indulgent tribute to gas stations and my affinity for them. new issues of the “gas stations zine” are released monthly, each featuring four ballpoint pen illustrations and four stories to accompany them. i’m having such a fun time putting these projects together and am so glad they’re being met with positive reception.
